So I'm half way through week two of my awesome three week summer photo workshop class. Today we ventured down to OTR and started the morning photographing at Findlay Market. I loved getting to see a different side of the market - the quiet before the storm of customers arrived. The vendors are so welcoming, full of personality and have hours and hours of stories to share. My goal was to capture a few portraits. Here's what I got.

Equine Portraiture

I've admired this style of equine portraiture for awhile now so I recently forced myself to give it a try. For my first two attempts, I used my extremely patient, understanding mare, Sweetie. Bless her heart for being such a good girl. I've now photographed her around 10 different times as practice. I'm determined to get this style down. I love practicing though, because each session gets better, and each shot is so unique. I truly feel as though these shots really capture the personality and heart of each horse, and force the viewer to reflect upon, admire and appreciate the beauty within each of these magnificent animals.

I learn new styles and tricks with each shot I take. I'm gettin there.

As part of our 5 piece final, we had to photograph a group of five. As soon as I heard about this assignment I had a vision in my mind - 5 women of different shapes and sizes, linked together in some way. I wanted to embrace the beauty of individuality.
